Apple Pudding A la Mod

Ingredients

 

For fruit stew:

½ kg golden apple (peeled and chopped)

½ cup sugar

½ cup water

¼ tsp cinnamon powder

 

For pastry crust:

1 cup maida

80 gms butter

¼ cup powdered sugar

50 gms cream

Cherries for decoration

  

Method:

 

1.      Mix water, sugar and cinnamon powder and bring to boil.

2.      Add chopped apple and cook for 5 minutes.

3.      Keep aside and let it cool.

4.      Mix maida, powdered sugar and butter to form a bread crumb like mixture.

5.      Line half of the mixture in a greased pie dish and press well.

6.      Pour over the fruit stew.

7.      Now spread another layer of the maida mixture and press well.

8.      Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degree till golden brown.

9.      Mix sugar in cream. Decorate the pie with cream and cherries and serve.
