Falafel
Ingredients½ cup chickpeas (soaked overnight) ½ onion (chopped) 1 flake garlic (crushed) 1 ½ tbsp coriander leaves (chopped) 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp cumin powder ¼ tsp turmeric powder ¼ tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp black pepper powder 2 tbsp semolina (suji) ½ tsp baking soda Salt, to taste Oil, to fryMethod:1. Drain the water from chickpeas and blend in a mixture. 2. Add onion, garlic, coriander leaves, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper and salt and grind to make a smooth paste. 3. Add semolina and baking soda. Mix well and make small balls. Flatten them slightly. 4. Heat oil in a pan and fry these tikkis till brown and golden. 5. Serve hot with hummus. |
